Kommanda Obbs, a visionary musician and cultural catalyst, has been instrumental in shaping the “Ts’epe” genre, a powerful artistic response to the socio-cultural challenges faced by people of African descent. In 2016, Kommanda Obbs released an EP titled “KETEU: The Sound of the Bell” which earned him a nomination in the “One Africa” category at the Metro FM Music Awards. He had the honor of touring with Damien Marley and performed at esteemed music festivals across Africa and beyond.
Kommanda Obbs’ self-titled album released in May 2016 earned him a nomination in the “Rest of Africa” category at the South African Music Awards. “MOEA” (2023) features collaborations with artists from around the world, showcasing his ability to blend traditional and modern sounds.
