Biography

Skoen Pampiri (Tlotliso Lebenya) is a compelling rapper and songwriter hailing from Mount Fletcher, Eastern Cape. Through his “Route 56 Music,” he masterfully blends Ts’epe, Afrobeats, Famo, and Trap, crafting a unique sound. Skoen Pampiri began writing music in Grade 6 and started recording in university. His debut mixtape “Leisa” (August 15, 2018), born from collaborations with cousin LT (a SOWETO-based producer) in Johannesburg, marked the beginning of his artistic journey.
 
Subsequent releases include poignant projects like “Mafeto: Tribute to Ntate Famole” (2020), sampling the legendary Famo musician, and “Phehla” (2021) with standout tracks “Lena Ke Lerato” and “Nthwentle.” In March 2024, Skoen Pampiri released the “Via Route 56” EP with IndianaRSA, featuring “Ke Hole” and “Kuningi.” Later, on November 8, 2024, he dropped “Masasa,” including singles “Starra,” “O Nketsa jwang,” and “Leisa Le Tseleng.”
 
Collaborations with notable artists like Ntate Stunna, Kommanda Obbs Sannere, D2AMAJOE, Phoka Ea Boroa, IndianaRSA, and Cheez Beezy have yielded tracks such as “Hello Nana,” “Bayethe,” and “Lekholo La Banna.” Skoen Pampiri has graced stages at prominent festivals including Lapeng Festival, Macufe, Matatiele Music Festival, annual Sesotho Fashioneng in Lesotho, and his own Fantising event in Tlokoeng (Mount Fletcher). These endeavors solidify his growing presence in the Sesotho hip-hop scene and the broader Southern African music industry.
