Typhus

Thabang Tsutsulupa, aka Typhus, is a visionary music producer from the Free State Province, currently based in Ladybrand, Manyatseng. With a passion for music ignited in high school, Typhus has evolved into a versatile producer, seamlessly blending commercial, Ts’epe, Motswako, and conscious styles with explorations in Amapiano, African jazz, and hip-hop infused with gospel elements. Driven by an insatiable desire to learn and fueled by his resolute personality, Typhus has crafted a discography of acclaimed tracks, including “Modeler,” “Nshebe Mahlong,” and “Thula Batho,” which have garnered airplay on prominent music channels such as Trace Africa, Channel O, and MTV Base. Collaborations with notable artists like Rapiologist, Ras, Pronto, Matter Tshepe, Matt Casket 88, and voice-over artist Rethabile Hlalele have further solidified his reputation. Typhus is currently spearheading his skills as the head engineer for D2AMAJOE’s recently released “Ts’epe Tape Vol 4,” featuring the hit single “Nthoempe” with artists Novere, Sneiman, Lolli Native, and Meloh_D. Additionally, he’s working with iconic artist Kommanda Obbs as one of the mixing engineers for his upcoming project, building on their previous collaboration where Typhus co-produced tracks for Kommanda Obbs’ “MOEA” album. With a mission to mentor emerging producers and create a platform for growth in the music industry, Typhus is poised for greater heights.
